OneofthethingsthatmadeHendrixsouniqueasaguitaristwastheinstrumentsheusedtocreatehismusic.Hendrix’sguitarswereaslegendaryasthemanhimself,andhehadauniqueaffinityforaparticulartypeofguitar:theFenderStratocaster.Amonghismostfamousguitarswerethe‘68whiteFenderStratocaster,the‘60srosewoodfretboardStratocaster,andthe‘67whiteStratocaster–whichisprobablythemosticonicofallHendrix'sguitars.

Alittle-knownfactaboutHendrix'sguitarsisthattheywereactuallyflippedupsidedown–Hendrixwasleft-handed,soheplayedtheguitarupsidedownsothatthestringsweretheotherwayaround.Thisiswhytheheadstockofhisguitarsisonthebottom–it'sadeadgiveawaythatHendrixplayedleft-handed.

JimiHendrixdiedtragicallyattheyoungageof27,buthislegacyhascontinuedtoliveonlongafterhisdeath.Hismusichasbeencelebratedandimitatedbygenerationsofmusicians,andhisinfluencecanbeheardineverythingfromheavymetaltogrungetohip-hop.Hendrix’simpactontheworldofmusicisimmeasurable,andhisspiritcontinuestoinspirepeoplearoundtheworldtothisday. Inmanyways,Hendrixwasaguitargod–heputtheinstrumentfrontandcenterinhismusic,andhisstyleofplayingwassomethingthathadneverbeenheardbefore.Hendrix'smusicwastheperfectembodimentofthe'60scounterculture–itwaswild,experimental,andelectrifying.Hendrixwassomeonewholivedandbreathedmusic,andhispassionandcreativitypropelledhimtotheforefrontoftherockscene.
